A Skill You Have Improved Lately
Speaking Part 2
Question
Describe a skill you have been trying to improve recently. You should say what the skill is, how you have been practising, what was difficult, and explain how the progress has changed your day-to-day life or plans.
Model Answer
A skill I have been working on is my spoken presentation skills for work. I have been recording short one-minute practice talks on my phone, then playing them back to fix filler words. I felt very awkward, but the habit became a bit easier after a few weeks. I also join a free online class where we give feedback in pairs. In daily life, I can lead small meetings with less stress now, and I have volunteered to run one short session in our next team off-site. a little bit braver in front of a group and that was my main target.
