Minority and Indigenous Languages
Writing Task 2
Question
Hundreds of minority languages are disappearing as young people prefer dominant global languages for study and work. Some think governments should actively protect these languages; others see this change as a natural part of progress. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Model Answer
When a language dies, stories and traditions can be lost forever. Schools and media can help keep small languages alive. But young people need English or other big languages for jobs abroad. In my opinion, governments should support bilingual education so children learn both.
